January 2006 - Colorado Land Rush relaunches website
This winter has been very dry in the Rio Grande Valley. The farmers and skiers haven’t been too happy with season to date, but there have been a few snow showers late in the month. Temperatures generally range from 5 degrees at night to 50 degrees during the day. While the local farming community has not been satisfied with the snowfall, their crop prices have risen to very good levels. The local crops generally consist of potatoes and hay, while ranchers are heavy in the beef industry. You may have noticed our website has undergone some major changes. It appears we have fallen victim to a web scam that infringed on the copyright of our template design. We decided it would be best to take the site down and redesign it in order to maintain a unique image. The website will soon have slideshows for each ranch and the South Fork area. The slideshows contain pictures from a new photo gallery that displays multiple pictures of each property. The State and Water Conservancy have begun a program to place large boulders in the Rio Grande River. The boulders will help control erosion, slow the water flow and create better fish habitats. The Wolf Creek Ski Area is in full swing with a 52 inch base and 120 inches of snow this season.
