November 2005 - Wolf Creek Ski Area opens and local financing terms

The winter season has begun in the Rio Grande Valley. As of November 29th, the Wolf Creek Ski Area has 40% of their slopes open. The rest of mountain will open as more snow falls in the area. A single day lift ticket is $45 for adults and $25 for children.

The current financing terms offered by local banks on vacant land are (on average):

75% loan to value
7.5% interest rate
10-20 year amortization
Fixed and ARM loans are available

The Rio Grande Hospital in Del Norte just received a half million dollar grant to build an office facility on site. The hospital is less than 5 minutes away from South Fork River Ranches and about 8 minutes away from Pronghorn Ranch.

The Monte Vista Airport also received a grant; this one is $700,000 for general improvements. The airport will still only allow small jets. Commercial flights will continue to fly into Alamosa from Denver.
